Trees - Ornamental

While no tree's only purpose in life is to be looked at, some are exceptionally showy to us as well as the birds and the bees. These trees are, what we would consider, ornamental because of their beautiful hues, showy berries, and various other aesthetics. They are sure to make a statement in any garden.

Learn more about how to plant a tree in our advice section and find even more information in our resources.

Bareroot ornamental trees | mid-November to March

Bareroot trees are only available from mid-November to March. You can learn more about the differences between bareroot and potted plants in our advice section.

Potted ornamental trees | all year round

Potted trees are available all year, but the best selection, and the best time to plant, is in late spring (April to May) and early autumn (September to October).

The soft, bright green, ovate leaves are  about 6”\/15cm long, and colour yellow in autumn. The glory of this tree is the flowers, which appear in spring. Under the branches, suspended from evenly spaced hanging stems, are bosses of tiny true flowers with red tips, held within two unevenly shaped creamy-white bracts 8”\/20cm long; like bird’s wings; these give the tree its alternative name of dove tree.
