The strap-shaped, arching leaves are deep green, forming a basal clump. From July to September, rounded umbels of tubular flowers rise on tall stems above the clump, palest lavender-grey, with green pollen and green at the base of each flower. The flowers are attractive to pollinators. Very good in containers, especially in a formal row of identical pots. The lacy fronds are light green, with bright red stipes (stems), particularly striking in spring as the ‘croziers’ unfurl. Underplant with early spring bulbs, such as snowdrops, to extend the season of interest.
